Because of the quality of the workmanship this beautiful easel is a joy to look at, even when there is no picture displayed on it. Thanks to the solid structure and the three legged base this antique is perfectly stable, no matter what the surface underneath is like. The angle of this practical size stand can easily (no pun intended) be adjusted with the chain between the stand and the back-rest. In our images the small chain that prevents the back-rest from sliding is not there, but we will put it back on prior to shipping. We have never seen this type of antique stand and we believe that it was probably used by a theatre or a concert hall to announce, for example, a play or a concert or opera. The three ‘picture frames’ on top would have held images of the stars of the show and the large square one in the middle would have held the title and more graphics to announce the play or concert. The combination of the warm patina of the wood and the beautifully carved, scrolling motifs makes this French easel a real visual treat as well. Living in a home or working in a studio or small theatre with a hand-crafted and stylish easel like this brings real beauty into your life. Especially with one of your favourite movies, plays or artists displayed in it.
This stunning and highly practical easel is great value for money. Especially when taken into account that perfect packing and worldwide delivery from our store to your door in just 4 to 6 days are complimentary.
