An unusual and scarce Chinese attributed Art Nouveau cloisonné card tray made for the Priests of Pallas Festival in Kansas City in 1906. The Festival was an annual week-long event held between 1887 and 1912. This delightful oval shaped dish, probably ordered from China, is made in cloisonné with a portrait of man in an early ornate military helmet set above a garland of flowers in colored enamels on a mottled blue ground. The card tray bears the initials ‘P. O. P. Kansas City, 1906.’ picked out in white enamel with a green enamel wirework base. The dish is not marked.
In good condition with wear commensurate with age and use.
