Wallace Bassford was an American painter and illustrator, born in 1900 in St. Louis Missouri, he attended the St. Louis School of Fine Art and was a member of St. Louis Art Guild. Lived also in New York City, Provincetown Massachusetts and Palm Beach FL. His work was exhibited at galleries and museums across the United State like the St. Louis Art Museum, San Francisco Museum of Art, Metropolitan Museum of Art New York, and Museum of Modern Art New York. Bassford know particularly for his floral still life’s and female figure portraits.
