Vintage Design
Midcentury small teak nightstands, original from the sixties. The fine teak material makes a warm compliment to the black metal frames, which create a floating, light appearance. Very symbolic for post-war European design, reflecting the new era of Danish style inspired furniture. Attributed to Auping and these night stands would make a great match to a Cleopatra daybed.
During the sixties, many European furniture companies started to produce teak furniture in the modernist Scandinavian style. Dutch company Auping worked with a number of famous designers such as Rietveld, Cordemeyer, and Kramer. The style is also clearly influenced by the designs of Cees Braakman and Pastoe and Fristho.
Great opportunity, hard to find as a set.
